Happy Friday, y’all! Popping in to share some recommendations.
Links, links, links!
A love letter to Megan Thee Stallion.
It’s publishing week for Jenny Odell, one of my favorite thinkers! Her new book is called Saving Time. Her first book, How to Do Nothing, is a text I return to often.
I think all of this emerging literature about awe is so lovely. Krista Tippett interviewed scientist Dacher Keltner recently about his research on the “eight wonders of life” that are most likely to induce awe — take a listen!
Fashion? Toni Cade Bambara? Revolution? I wish I wrote this.
I’ve remembered recently that laughing is my favorite thing to do. As such, I’ve taken somewhat of a break from ~prestigious TV~ and returned to my roots: cartoons and sitcoms. Highly recommend the following!
Veep on HBO Max
BoJack Horseman on Netflix
Parks and Recreation on Peacock
Harley Quinn on HBO Max
Batman Beyond on HBO Max
Abbott Elementary on Hulu
I went to see Creed III (for the plot, of course) and was positively gobsmacked when (SPOILER) my favorite artist Kehlani Ashley Parrish appeared on screen! I mean, truly, imagine my face. Their song is one of the highlights of Creed III’s really good album/soundtrack, produced by Dreamville.
Happy reading/listening/watching! Have a great weekend, everybody.
Your Auntie has no REAL clue about how this works! I love your thoughts and insights and have attempted to share them with the young people on my team!! Love Ya!
What an ol soul you are- LAUGH! I used my ol southurn accent as I typed!
